Thought this was interesting, I would like to know if there was more to the story.

So yesterday we had a class discussion on English and how it would be easier if it was our National Language. I agree that it would be a lost easier for people to communicate and get closer to achieving the "American Dream" if there was one language that everyone spoke. On the other hand I don't agree with it because America is supposed to be a "melting pot" and well I think that throughout history even though America "welcomes" people from many other places, it's become too "American". Now let me try and explain what I mean. Throughout my classes I've learned that cultures have there similarities and differences and then I seem to see there's this new culture, the American culture. I think that anyone living in the United States whom is a citizen is very privileged, theres laws that protect us, our voices our heard, we are free. The thing is that it seems that people forget where they come from, just because you live in America does not mean that is all you are. I think that people should dig in their roots and realize that there is more to them then USA. Back to the national language thing, I believe that as young kids, we should have the opportunity to learn other languages, since that is when it is easier to learn them. Instead of having one language why not two or three, that way when we are older we can travel to other countries that speak these languages and be able to communicate, not only with pople from our country but other countries too.
